What to Expect at Your Haircut
Tips for a great cut
- Bring photos — and say what you like about them (the layers, the length, the face-framing).
- Tell your stylist how you style your hair day-to-day and how much time you spend.
- Growing it out? Ask for a "dusting" — trimming just the very ends.
Common cut terms
Long layers add movement without losing length. Face-framing layers sit around your face. Curtain bangs part in the middle and blend into the sides. Blunt cut ends at one sharp length. See the Hair Dictionary for more.
Cut with color
