How Much Do Hair Extensions Cost? (What Goes Into the Price)
What changes the price
- Method: K-tips are installed strand by strand and take longer; tape-ins are fastest.
- Amount of hair: one row for volume vs. several rows for length and fullness.
- Length: longer hair costs more.
- Color: multi-tone blends or toning to match your color.
- Maintenance: move-ups and re-tapes are booked separately and are much less than a new install. Tip: compare cost over a year, not just day one.
Budgeting for the year
With hand-tied wefts or tape-ins, a year usually means one hair purchase (sometimes two), plus a move-up roughly every 6–8 weeks. With K-tips, it usually means a new install every 3–4 months. Ask your stylist to map out a yearly plan at your consultation.

Common questions
Why don't you list one price for extensions?
The amount and length of hair needed varies a lot from person to person, so a single number would be misleading. Your consultation gives you an exact quote.
Are move-ups included in the install price?
No. Move-ups are separate maintenance appointments booked every 6–8 weeks for hand-tied and tape-in extensions.
